Apple adds 100,000 new jobs in India in 19 months: report
According to a study, Apple has become the leading employer in India’s electronics sector for blue-collar workers. In the last 19 months, the corporation has created over 1,000,000 new direct jobs, primarily through its major domestic vendors and their component suppliers. The government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) programme, which aims to promote regional industry and increase employment prospects, is responsible for the jobs’ creation. The three companies that assemble iPhones, Foxconn Hon Hai, Pegatron, and Wistron, have created 60% of the new jobs and are responsible for the lion’s share.
