The US-based bootcamp education startup Fullstack Academy has been bought by online skilling and training platform Simplilearn in an all-cash deal, even if the bigger edtech sector is still bleeding as the pandemic-driven digital boom slows down.

After purchasing the Silicon Valley-based digital marketing training company Market Motive in 2015, the transaction represents the business's second acquisition.

All Fullstack Academy employees will continue in their current positions after the merger, raising the total number of employees at Simplilearn to over 2,500. Within Simplilearn, Fullstack Academy will continue to run as a separate business division.

Web development, cybersecurity, product management, devops, data analytics, and other disciplines are among the bootcamps offered by Fullstack Academy. The business collaborates with 20 academic and business partners, including Louisiana State University, Virginia Tech, and Caltech CTME. Graduates from it have landed jobs at major corporations including Google, Facebook, and Amazon.

Simplilearn is anticipated to have access to new university partnerships in the area thanks to Fullstack's existing partnerships, which span 15 states. Simplilearn claims to be the top online bootcamp in the world for training in the skills needed for the digital economy, with growth of over 60% in the previous year. It was established in 2010 and has offices in Bangalore and San Francisco. Through live online classes led by business executives, trainers, and practitioners, its programmes are created and delivered in collaboration with universities, businesses, and professional organisations.
