300 participant students from across Chennai will learn under the guidance of global leaders in the field and brainstorm path-breaking ideas with Web 3.0 and Blockchain

Chennai, 25th March 2023: India’s leading Blockchain and Web 3.0 education pioneer, IBC Media, launched the Alt Hack - Chennai, a third in a series of Alt Hacks after two successful editions in Hyderabad and Vizag. The IBC Alt Hack - Chennai intends to train and facilitate the city’s students to practically learn about new, cutting-edge technologies from distinguished industry experts and use Web 3.0 to develop innovative ideas and build upon them further. 

Alt Hack Chennai is part of IBC Media’s Internship Program exclusively for students with multiple benefits such as grants, high paying jobs and an opportunity for students to build on their Web 3 ideas for successful outcomes. Alt Hack Chennai is the first step towards this objective, and is conducted in association with the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Tamil Nadu Skill Board. This education bootcamp is being heldat Anna University, Guindy, from 24th March to 31st March 2023. The week-long zero-cost hackathon event is designed to create a rich student developer talent pool in the Web 3.0 industry.

Its inaugural event was graced by numerous prominent industry leaders and experts from the field. The programme will take students from Chennai’s reputed colleges through a comprehensive orientation, education, training, teamwork and ideation process. On the last day, they will present their Web 3.0 and Blockchain ideas in the presence of esteemed jury members, and the top 3 ideas will be recognised as ‘The Best Ideas’ and will be presented with certificates from IBC Media.

With a series of wide-ranging immersive panel discussions and online sessions by experts, Alt Hack unlocks floodgates of opportunities for students to explore Web 3.0 space. This includes an introduction to Web 3.0 and blockchain, its current state and latest trends, becoming a Web 3.0 developer, Decentralised Finance, NFTs and its applications, Metaverse and its use cases, and more. Industry experts will also give insights into the technical anatomy of blockchain and the infrastructure of Web 3.0 and networking in Web 3.0. And discussions will be conducted on crypto and blockchain awareness amongst the GenZ, the power of media and marketing in Web 3.0, amongst other relevant topics.

Furthermore, special HR and principal panels will focus on Web-related careers, skill gaps in this space, the need for industry and educational institutions to collaborate and shape future careers of students in Web 3.0 and emerging technologies, the placement scenario and the next steps in taking it to the next level.

By giving students a 360-degree overview of the Web 3.0 space, Alt Hack - Chennai, like its previous two editions, intends to bridge the wide gap between Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 smoothly and seamlessly.
