Vikas Purohit has been appointed by Meta Inc as Director of Global Business Group in India. He will oversee the strategy and execution of the charter that is targeted at the top advertisers and agency partners in the nation.

According to a statement from Meta, Purohit will answer to Arun Srinivas, Director and Head of Ads Business for Meta in India.

For the past four years, Purohit has served as the CEO of Tata Cliq, a division of the Tata conglomerate dedicated to online shopping.

At organisations like Amazon, Reliance Brands Limited, Aditya Birla Group, and Tommy Hilfiger, he has nearly two decades of expertise in senior business, sales, and marketing roles. In addition to the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore, he also graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, BHU.

Purohit will be in charge of Meta's interactions with the biggest companies in India and the agency sector. In order to drive Meta's revenue growth across key channels in India, Purohit will lead the company's strategic relationships with the leading brands and agencies in the nation. He will also work with the media and creative ecosystems to hasten the adoption of digital tools by the biggest advertisers and agencies.

Ajit Mohan, the Vice President and Managing Director of Meta India, was the first high-profile C-Suite exit in recent weeks for Meta. After nearly four years in charge, he left the organisation in early November. A little more than a week later, Abhijit Bose, WhatsApp's Head of India, too announced his resignation after serving for almost four years. Bose left Meta India along with Director of Public Policy Rajiv Aggarwal.
