Air India adds a direct flight from Mumbai to San Francisco and ups the number of nonstop flights between India and the US to 40.

Air India announced plans to commence flights from the financial centre to New York, Frankfurt, and Paris early next year as well as the inauguration of a direct flight between Mumbai and San Francisco on Thursday. Jyotiraditya Scindia, the minister of civil aviation, officially launched the Mumbai-San Francisco route, which would run three times a week, virtually from the city. The newly introduced Boeing 777-200LR aircraft will fly the route three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
